For the first time ever in Drag Race herstory, Michelle Visage has taken over the judging reins from RuPaul, and fans are totally obsessed with how she went.

In the seventh episode, which aired on Thursday, the much-loved makeover challenge made its long-awaited return.

The six remaining queens faced one of the toughest challenges yet as they shared the art – and pain – of drag with some very special makeover subjects, the Queen team, a group of ladies who help out on the show behind-the-scenes.

However when it came time to show off the fruits of their labour, it was revealed that Mama Ru was not able to be there.

Given her moment to sashay down the runway, Michelle did not disappoint, strutting and showing off her sparkly black bra and suit, complete with some fabulous voluminous hair.

‘Welcome to the main stage of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. Due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control, RuPaul is unable to join us tonight,’ Visage announced, leaving her on the judging panel with Boy George and Graham Norton, while Drag Race fan favourite Raven took over her seat.

Despite the mix-up, fans had nothing but praise to heap on Michelle.

‘An excellent performance Michelle Visage. Miss you Ru,’ one fan wrote.

‘Michelle Visage’s Drag Race UK WE ARE READY,’ another said.

Others couldn’t resist the chance to joke about how Michelle might have been waiting a while for this moment.

‘Michelle Visage finding out she’s finally hosting an episode of Drag Race without Rupaul,’ this user said.

‘Michelle Visage is literally living out all her fantasies tonight,’ another added.

Despite the absence though, a promo for next week shows that Ru will be back next week.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK airs Thursdays at 9pm on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer.
