Unlike the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the celebrity version won’t immediately be available on Netflix for UK viewers to watch. (Picture: VH1)
After branching out into the UK last year, it was announced that RuPaul’s Drag Race would further delight fans with a brand new celebrity version of the hit show.
Some of the show’s most beloved queens including Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Monét X Change, Monique Heart, Nina West, Trinity the Tuck and Trixie Mattel are all back, back, back for the special which the show is calling ‘the most star-studded competition in herstory.’
Three celebrity guests will be transformed into their new drag alter-egos and take part in iconic Drag Race challenges on each episode of the show – but the identity of the famous participants is being kept a secret (hence the name!) until the show airs.
Can you tune into Celebrity Drag Race in the UK?
RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race debuts on 24 April on VH1 in the US. The special four-episode event will air every Friday in America at 9.30pm or 8.30pm local time depending on the time zone.
Sadly for RPDR fans in the UK, the exact details of when the show will air over here are unclear.
Netflix, where all of the episodes from previous series are available to stream, currently don’t currently have rights to RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race.
Fingers crossed it won’t be too long until our favourite queens and their celebrity students make it across the pond to a TV channel or streaming service in the UK.
Jeff Goldblum was in tears over a RuPaul Drag Race star’s speech (Picture: VH1)
Jeff Goldblum was left in tears over RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jackie Cox’s speech about LGBTQ and Islam.
The Jurassic Park actor was a guest judge on an episode of the 12th season, in which the seven remaining queens walked a runway with a patriotic Stars & Stripes theme.
Iranian-Canadian contestant Jackie wore a hijab adorned with 50 silver stars, and a red-and-white striped kaftan.
Before her lip-sync, she opened up about how Donald Trump’s travel ban in 2017 – which affected several countries with majority Muslim populations – had ‘hurt’ her immigrant family.
Jackie broke down in tears as she said: ‘When the Muslim ban happened, it really destroyed a lot of my faith in this country, and really hurt my family.
‘That’s so wrong to me. And I had to show America that you can be LGBT and from the Middle East, and there’s gonna be complicated s**t around that, and that’s OK.’

Jeff became very emotional at the end of her lip-sync (Picture: VH1)
Shen went on: ‘But I’m here, and I deserve to be an American just as much as anyone else.’
Jackie then lip-synced to Katy Perry’s Firework against Widow Von’Du, leaving Jeff in tears by the end of her performance.
In her confessional, Jackie said: ‘I”m exploding out on that stage because I’m feeling the weight of everyone who’s ever been told they need to go back home where they come from.
The 67-year-old wiped away his tears (Picture: VH1)
‘I’m here to let them know that, “Baby, you’re a firework, and you have a place right here in America.”‘
Jeff also sparked divisive debate among viewers after asking Jackie if Islam is ‘anti-homosexuality and anti-woman’.
He first asked Jackie if she was religious, to which she said: ‘I am not. To be honest, this outfit really represents the importance that visibility for people of religious minorities need to have in this country.’
He then asked: ‘Is there something in this religion that is anti-homosexuality and anti-woman? Does that complicate the issue? I’m just raising it and thinking out loud and maybe being stupid.’
Jackie admitted she had ‘misgivings about the way LGBT+ people are treated in the Middle East’, before adding: ‘At the same time, I am one.
‘What is so important to me is that if you just happen to be different, then live that truth.’

RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race first episode celebrities (Picture: Rex)
The first three famous guests of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race have finally been unveiled.
A team of queens we’ve come to know and love from previous seasons of the show will see three celebrity guests be transformed into their new drag alter-ego and take part in iconic Drag Race challenges.
The first episode, which aired on VH1, featured Superior Donut’s Jermaine Fowler, Younger’s Nico Tortorella and Riverdale’s Jordan Connor.
At the end of each episode, one queen will be crowned the winner and donate their winnings to a charity of their choice, because a queen is nothing if not generous.
Nico is already known to Drag Race fans after appearing as a judge in 2018 and was immediately the favourite to win
Neither Jordan nor Jermaine have any experience with everything drag.

Jermaine Fowler in Superior Donuts (Picture: CBS)
As there are different celebrities for each episode, RuPaul made sure to fit in as much as possible.
After a mini-challenge and a lip-sync, Jordan chose to pair up with Trixie Mattle, with Nico and Monet X Change teaming up, and Jermaine coupling with Bob the Drag Queen.
What came next? The Snatch Game of course, henny.
Despite his role as tough South Side Serpent Sweet Pea in Riverdale, Jordan transformed into an amazing Chrissy Teigen.

Nico was the embodiment of Lucille Ball, albeit more muscly.
Jermaine became a whole new character for the hilarious game, a female version of Kevin Hart called Kevina.
Stars for the rest of the episodes have not been revealed and it’s safe to assume we’re going to have to wait until each episode is aired.
Alyssa Edwards, Asia O’Hara, Kim Chi, Monet X Change, Monique Hart, Nina West, and Vanessa ‘Vanjie’ Mateo will also be appearing.
As usual, RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Ross Matthews and Carson Kressley will serve as judges.

Baga Chipz and Gyles teamed up together (Picture: BBC)
Pointless Celebrities fans were a bit obsessed over Baga Chipz and Gyles Brandreth teaming up together for the latest edition of the game show – and we love them together too.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race Star joined forces with the writer and broadcaster to compete against fellow celeb couples on the show, and it’s safe to say fans were loving the two together.
A match made in heaven, right?
Baga Chipz and Gyles proved to work well together, and the Drag Race star seemed to have quite a bit of knowledge up her sleeve.
And although the two did not ultimately find the pointless answer for some questions, host Alexander Armstrong did award £500 to them, as well as the other celeb pairs, which they could then give to a charity of their choice.
Regardless, fans on social media couldn’t get enough of the quite frankly bonkers yet amazing duo.
‘Gyles Brandreth and Gaga Chipz, the pairing that TV was invented for,’ one fan tweeted.
Viewers loved them (Picture: BBC)
Another added: ‘Baga Chipz @ChipShopBird and Gyles Brsndeth @GylesB1 you are giving me life!’
‘#pointless gyles brandreth playing alongside Baga Chipz from that drag programme is quite the diverse pairing,’ one tweet read.
‘Give whoever decided to pair Gyles Brandeth and Baga Chipz an OBE immediately,’ one user suggested, and we might just have to agree with them.
Gyles Brandreth and Baga Chipz, the pairing that TV ðº was invented for. #PointlessCelebrities
For those who aren’t super familiar with Baga Chipz, she competed in the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, which was broadcast on BBC Three last year, coming in third place.
She describes herself as a ‘pub queen; tart with a heart; like someone’s auntie I give advice on how to pull fellas and how to get p****d.’
‘I’m not one of these gorgeous beautiful Kate Moss lookalike drag queens. My style is more cabaret, old school, sequin frocks, Shirley Bassey, Danna La Rue, Lily Savage kind of drag,’ she continued.
‘I’m common as muck, bagachips from Walthamstow.’
In addition to being a writer and broadcaster, Gyles is also an actor and comedian, and previously served as a Conservative MP for the city of Chester between 1992 and 1997, and as Lord Commissioner Of The Treasury between December 1996 and May 1997.
Pointless Celebrities airs Saturdays at 6pm on BBC One.

Has a Drag Race reunion been revealed? (Picture: REX)
As Drag Race season 12 is coming to an end, fans have been wondering how the show will put together its iconic reunion episode now that everyone is in lockdown.
Following the coronavirus pandemic, more and more countries are telling people to stay at home to help stall the spread of Covid-19.
However, this has had a detrimental affect on the TV industry, seeing a number of show put on hold until the crisis is over.
But it appears the RuPaul show has found a way of bringing its Queens back together, as contestant Nicky Doll shared a picture of the cast video calling each other.
Alongside the photo, they wrote: ‘Sisters’ and shared the #DragRace12.
Fans were quick to comment, and wondered whether or not this was a leak of the reunion episodes – which are usually filmed just weeks before the finale airs.
Nicky Doll shared this snap and we have all the questions (Picture: Twitter)
‘You’re gonna get in trouble for leaking the reunion,’ one warned while another added: ‘Omg the season 12 reunion came early.’
Someone else felt the same and squealed: ‘Yasss reunion, come thru!’
After this Friday, there are four more episodes of the show left to air until this year’s winner is revealed.
Jackie Cox recently made Jeff Goldblum cry (Picture: VX)
Ahead of her lip-sync battle, the star spoke about Donald Trump’s travel ban and how it had directly affected her family.
Wiping tears away from her eyes, she said: ‘When the Muslim ban happened, it really destroyed a lot of my faith in this country, and really hurt my family.
‘That’s so wrong to me. And I had to show America that you can be LGBT and from the Middle East, and there’s gonna be complicated s**t around that, and that’s OK.’
Jackie then lip-synced to Katy Perry’s Firework against Widow Von’Du.
She closed off her speech by saying: ‘I”m exploding out on that stage because I’m feeling the weight of everyone who’s ever been told they need to go back home where they come from.

The BBC has dismissed complaints against RuPaul’s Drag Race UK (Picture: BBC)
The BBC has dismissed complaints against RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
In its fortnightly report, the channel released the results of several complaints filed against shows, also including The One Show, Question Time and Big Night In.
For Drag Race UK, the Beeb decided to not uphold complaints made against the queer reality show that it was ‘based on a misogynistic premise.’
The Executive Complaints Unit (ECU) dismissed these claims in the new report.
They also decided to not uphold accusations that The Graham Norton Show made an offensive comment saying that ‘men had it easy’ or the BBC News at Ten, for suggested bias against Israel.
Drag Race – which has run for 12 seasons including four ‘All-stars’ spin-offs in the US – made its British debut last year, with guest judges including Cheryl, Maisie Williams and Andrew Garfield.
The inaugural season of the show was won by The Vivienne, who faced off against Baga Chipz and Davina De Campo in the final.

Series two of the popular show has already been commissioned – but filming had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Confirming the news, a BBC spokesperson said: ‘In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, production on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK will be temporarily pausing filming both in consultation with and supported by the BBC.
‘We will continue to review all productions on a case by case basis and will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the Foreign Office, World Health Organisation and Public Health England.’
Apparently, Supermodel of the World, Naomi Campbell will also be along for the ride.
Buckle up your belts, girls.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 line-up has finally been revealed and it’s going to be insane.
RuPaul confirmed that All Stars 5 will be released on 5 June, and it’s exactly what we need during the lockdown.
The queens for this season were revealed on YouTube Live and include the likes of Shea Coulee, Alexis Mateo, and Miz Cracker.
But wait there’s more, so hold onto your wigs.
RuPaul even announced that this season is going to be a little different, saying: ‘For All Stars 5, we’ve come up with a new twist that is so twisted it’s guaranteed to twist your twisted minds.’
It will season 10 queens from previous seasons of the original series lip-syncing their way into the Drag Race Hall of Fame, taking home a $100,000 (£80,460) cash prize.

Yesterday we found out 10 queens that would once again be taking to the stage and fighting it out for that coveted spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame, and its definitely an eclectic bunch.
Fan favourites such as Shea Coulee, Miz Cracker and Blair St. Clair (she does declare) will be back for a second crack at the workroom.
But, this is Drag Race, so there’s obviously a twist. Tweeting out after the announcement, the show’s official account teased that the rules are about to change.
‘All Stars rules have been suspended…officially,’ they wrote. ‘Get ready for the biggest shake-up in Drag Race herstory.’
As avid fans will be aware, the one distinguishing feature of All Stars is that its participants lip-synch for thier legacy, not their life, so the winners of each week will battle off to a bop of Ru’s choosing before deciding from the bottom two who gets eliminated.
Could we see a move back to the more traditional lip-syncs featured in the standard series?

Not us, that’s for sure henny.

It’s Saturday which means it’s the most important day in any RuPaul’s Drag Race fan’s calendar – the day new episodes of season 12 land on Netflix UK.
The new season has been an absolute doozy, with the final six all serving us so much excellence week after week that watching the judges splitting hair to try and find two who need to lip sync for their lives is actually quite stressful.
Week after week, we wait for the new installment to land as we get closer and closer to finally crowning a winner.
If you’ve finally stopped hyperventilating at the line-up for All Stars Season 5 to the point where you can read words again, here’s what you need to know about what time you can catch episodes of season 12 on Netflix.
What time to episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race arrive on Netflix?
New eipsodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 are landing on Netflix on Saturdays from 8am.
This is the morning after the episodes premier on VH1 in the US.
We’re being spoiled with RPDR content of late, because not only has the line-up for All Stars season 5 been released, but we’re also getting episodes of the new spin-off show RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race.
This series, which is also airing on Netflix, features various mystery celebrities as they undertake classic Drag Race challenges in a bid to win money for their chosen charity.
These episodes air weekly on Netflix on Saturdays from 8am as well.
The Queens of Drag Race Season 12 (Picture: Stephen Lovekin/REX)
Though most of us would love to see coronavirus sashay away now, not even RuPaul and his army of queens are immune to the disruption the virus has caused across the world.
You better stop relying on that antibody, as Michelle Visage would probably say, because the finale for the current series streaming on Netflix for UK fans has already been filmed following the new normal social distancing rules.
Valentina could argue she was ahead of her time, keeping the face mask on during her lip sync, but to avoid that happening again, how will the finale work?
How will the Drag Race finale be filmed?
In a press release (ru-lease?) on Friday May 15, VH1 revealed that both the reunion episode to air on May 22 and the Season 12 finale to air on May 29 have been shot virtually.
The episodes will be broadcast on Friday in the US, and are available to stream the day after for UK audiences.
In previous seasons, the finale was filmed in front of a live audience, and since Season 9 has involved the final four queens facing off in a series of lip-sync battles.
Due to the coronavirus restrictions, the release stated that this year the finale was filmed using ‘innovative technology that highlights the creatively of the queens.’
*Spoiler Alert – Don’t click on the upcoming link if you haven’t seen the latest episode*
The episode will still include a lip-sync battle between the final three who have been decided after last night’s Viva Drag Vegas episode.
Season 11 winner Yvie Oddly will appear to help crown the winner and season 11 Miss Congeniality Nina West will make an appearance to help award this season’s Miss Congeniality, who will earn $10,000 provided by Pantene — which, according to the press release, will also have ‘a special surprise for the other 11 queens.’
The reunion episode, which comes before the finale, will reunite all of the queens from the season with the exception of Sherry Pie, who was disqualified from the finale and has been mostly edited out of the show after allegations emerged after filming that he catfished young men, pretending to be a casting director who wanted to see them in explicit or suggestive positions.
This reunion episode is being called a ‘virtual slumber party’ in which the season’s queens will answer questions from fans and discuss the season’s highs and lows, as well as what life has been like as a drag performer during coronavirus.
RuPaul has wiped his entire Instagram (Picture: VH1)
RuPaul has suddenly deleted all his social media posts overnight and fans are wondering what’s going on.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race host’s photos were being deleted one by one as noticed by eagle-eyed fans.
Moments after, his entire Instagram and Twitter contents had disappeared.
What does this mean? New announcement coming soon? A new season? A fresh start?
Considering his last liked posts were from March, there definitely seems to be something going on.
Currently, Ru – full names RuPaul Andre Charles – is still appearing regularly as the host of season five of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, airing weekly on VH1.
so rupaul suddenly deleted all of his posts on instagram, and these comments are KILLING me pic.twitter.com/6HCnubfuB9
After seeing RuPaul deleted her Twitter, I couldnât help but wonder: was it time I logged off to get some fresh air as well? pic.twitter.com/ATAauCeX1u
One joke theory was that RuPaul was simply leaving the girl group Fifth Harmony – it would be a true loss.
Fans also noticed that Drag Race season 10 star Kameron Michaels wiped his Instagram, and is there a connection?
It should be noted that the Drag Race host was largely absent from social media even before wiping his accounts, during both the onset of the coronavirus pandemic as well as the Black Lives Matter movement.
Get your theories in now, guys – we can’t wait to see what’s going on.

*Warning – this article contains spoilers for the latest episode of All Stars 5*
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 gave us another sickening round of the Snatch Game (of Love) in its latest episode, and two of the contenders are already being praised by fans as some of the best we’ve ever seen.
Jujubee and Shea Coulee stole the show as they impersonated Catwoman actress Eartha Kitt and reality TV icon Flavor Flav respectfully.
And let’s just say, it was a gag from beginning to end.
Asked by guest judge, UnReal’s Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, how she would keep him warm at night, Jujubee as the late Eartha responded: ‘I would walk sensually over to the thermometer…
‘And then turn the thermometer up to a sensible 74.’
And while Shea may have been the overall winner this week, fans won’t be forgetting the pairing of her and Jujubee for some time by the looks of it.
‘Jujubee and Shea Coulee had me rolling on the floor laughing at Snatch Game,’ one fan wrote.
@jujuboston & @SheaCoulee had me rolling on the floor laughing at snatch game, my lawwwwwd ð¤£ð¤£ð¤£ð¤£
— TS Caulay tha stallion ð (@TsCaulayX) July 4, 2020
If youâre in comedy you should consider giving up because nothing will ever be funnier than @jujuboston as Eartha Kitt talking about turning a thermostat to a sensible 74 degrees.
Another added (and this isn’t literal, we hope): ‘I’m dying! Best Snatch Game ever! Juju and Shea killing it!’
Fans also derided the seemingly last-minute rule change in the episode, which meant every queen except the winner found themselves in the bottom and up for elimination.
‘Jujubee’s Snatch Game performance is my favourite this season,’ another viewer explained. ‘She should have been declared safe.’
Personally, we think they should have handed her the crown for the thermostat joke alone, but that’s just us.
The episode this week ended with season three star India Ferrah voted out after Shea won a legacy lip-synch against guest-star Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.
India’s eviction this week was notable since she attempted to convince Shea that fellow competitor Alexis Mateo had conspired earlier in the competition to send Shea home. The shade of it all!

What to watch on Wow Presently Plus (Picture: Getty)
Coming from the minds behind reality behemoth RuPaul’s Drag Race, World of Wonder Presents Plus is the first streaming service to offer solely LGBTQ+ content.
Wow, the makers of Drag Race and its whole host of spin-offs, have created World of Wonder Presents Plus and it is a truly sickening window into mainstream queer culture at its finest.
From the Drag Race spin-offs you’ve always wanted to watch to fascinating docu-series and webisodes, there’s a little something here for everyone.
Here are our picks for the best shows to watch on Wow Presents Plus.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars seasons 1-5
Obviously, the biggest attraction of WOW Presents Plus needs no introduction – it’s RuPaul herself!
Here, you can catch all five seasons of the All Stars spin-off, in which each season brings together some of the best and brightest stars of Drag Race that didn’t snatch the crown for a chance at RuDemption.
You can watch the oddly-shaped All Stars 1, before really treating yourself to the full experience of All Stars 2 – which we’re not afraid to name one of, if not the, best seasons of reality TV ever filmed.
Werq The World
If you ever wondered what happened after the Drag Race cameras stopped rolling then Werq The World is for you.
Following some of the series’ most popular drag queens as they head out on tour, flying high on post-Drag Race success, this docu-series is a fascinating look into the micro-culture that exists around drag now, and the almost immediate fame these queens are now experiencing.
RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked
If you like Drag Race but think it needs to be more dramatic then don’t worry – we have you covered.
Untucked takes you behind-the-scnes, taking place mostly during the gaps between the runway and the lipsync at the end of an episode, where the contestants mostly discuss the various troubles and controversies brought up each week whilst sipping on a cocktail.
If you’re an avid fan, then you already know Untucked is responsible for some of the most iconic moments Drag Race has to offer (Shangela vs Mimi Imfurst, Mimi Imfurst vs, well, everyone) so this counts as essential viewing.
Morning T&T
Baga Chipz and The Vivienne were the brightest spots in the inaugural series of Drag Race UK, thanks in huge part to their career-making turns as Margaret Thatcher and Donald Trump respectively in Snatch Game.
In fact, they proved so popular that they even got their own spin-off web series – Morning T&T re-imagines the two controversial political figures as the host of a news show.
Expect a lot of surreal humour and spot-on impressions.
UNHhhh seasons 1-5
This is, shall we say, not for the faint hearted.
If you were draw up a list of the best-ever Drag Race competitors, Trixie Mattell and Katya would rank pretty high up there, mostly because of their massive and fascinating success with their own web series, all five series of which are now available to stream.
Basically just featuring the two friends sitting down and discussing whatever comes to mind when they’re presented with a loose topic or concept, the one thing that shines through is Trixie and Katya’s friendship, as well as their keen and finely-tuned sense of humour, maximised for viral success.

If you’ll indulge me for a moment, I’ll explain why this is indeed the case.
Before I delve into my adoration of the superstar, who first rose to fame during the ninth season of Drag Race in 2017, I should note my respect for the fellow finalists.
Miz Cracker and Jujubee are both positioned in the top three alongside Shea, and deservedly so. Franchise veteran Jujubee has managed to win the hearts of the Drag Race fandom once again, and the delightful Miz Cracker has come on leaps and bounds since her season 10 debut.
Unfortunately for both, Shea has the edge — and this starts with fashion.
Although my own knowledge of style is yet to surpass a plain black t-shirt and jeans combo, I believe my years of Drag Race dedication have provided me some insight into what makes a successful runway look.
Throughout her journey on All Stars, it can’t be denied that Shea has excelled in this area, and her striking ensembles have always been a cut above her competitors.
This dazzling creation managed to encapsulate her overall drag evolution – each week, Shea presented an elevated version of the looks she served on her past Drag Race appearance.
And, ultimately, this is the essence of what All Stars is about. Fans, and indeed the judges, yearn to enjoy a new and improved version of the returning queens, and in that respect, Couleé most certainly delivered.
Her drag evolution also translated into the weekly challenges. Sure, there were a few hiccups along the way, most notably during the ‘get a room’ maxi-challenge — when Shea’s Golden Girls-inspired hotel experience didn’t quite land.
But she is human, after all (even though her otherworldly looks would have you believe otherwise).
Still, Couleé has managed to apply her palette of drag excellency to the majority of tasks thrown her way, seen recently in the dreaded stand-up comedy challenge, during which she added yet another, hilarious skillset to her every-growing list of capabilities.
Fans like myself also appreciate a tale of redemption, and boy, does she have one.
Shea entered All Stars still wounded from Drag Race’s infamous season nine lip-sync finale, when she was eliminated after eventual winner Sasha Velour dramatically removed a wig to reveal cascading rose petals, instantly stealing the show.
Couleé’s failure to take home the crown was a surprise to many, leaving fans like myself believing she’d been robbed of victory. The difficulties of bouncing back from such a devastating loss is something Shea has acknowledged on All Stars.
‘For the next year at meet and greets, fans would take off their hats and rose petals would fall out because I was the butt of this joke,’ she divulged to Drag Race panelist Ross Matthews. ‘I wanted to find an opportunity to reclaim my rose.’
In the end, her inspiring story arc has worked to her advantage. To quote Mother Ru, viewers witnessed Shea rage a fearless war on her ‘inner-saboteur,’ seen throughout her various wins — which she achieved amid a lingering sense of self-doubt brought on by her 2017 Drag Race experience.
Perhaps this is why Couleé emerged as such a fan favourite. The Twitter-verse is beaming with nothing but praise for the All Starsfinalist.
‘If Shea Couleé doesn’t win then there’s no justice in the world,’ claimed one user. And we love to see it.
seriously though? whatâs the plan if shea doesnât win

Overcoming her prior loss might’ve been a hard-fought personal battle for the Drag Race star, but Shea has grown beyond her rose petal haunted image to flourish and dominate the art of drag in 2020.
So, no matter RuPaul’s all-important final verdict, Miss Shea Couleé walks away from the competition a true winner. And if the crown winds up being awarded elsewhere, I demand a recount.

It’s probably the strongest final three RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars has ever seen, but when it came down to it, only one queen could emerge victorious (because you can’t have two ties in a row, Ru).
And we probably should have known who’d win – because as she told us before, she didn’t come to play, she came to slay.
Shea Couleé is a proud member of the Drag Race Hall of Fame, as she was crowned winner of All Stars 5 in a tense and fabulous finale.
The 31-year-old beat rivals Jujubee and Miz Cracker to the crown, plus that $100,000 (£78,000) prize – and with the $30,000 (£23,000) worth of tips that she won from lip syncs, we reckon drinks are on Shea.
Ahead of prancing with her crown, Shea, 31, told RuPaul through tears: ‘My drag in its purest form is a tribute to black women. Ru, I would be remiss if I did not tell you how much I appreciate you and everything that you’ve done.
‘I thank you for helping me make my dreams come true. I’ll never be able to repay you for that. But, if you give me your Venmo, I can send you some installments, and I will sure as hell try.’
While she was ahead of the competition week in, week out with killer runway looks and hilarious performances, Shea went through quite the personal journey, as she grappled with her ‘humiliation’ from season nine.
Shea was one of the frontrunners for the crown that season, but her dreams of winning were drowned out by a sea of rose petals when rival Sasha Velour lifted off her wig for one of the most iconic lip sync reveals in Drag Race her-story.
But now she has her very own crown, we reckon She finally has some ru-demption.
The final saw Shea, Cracker and Jujubee tasked with writing their own verse for RuPaul’s song Clap Back! and learning Todrick Hall’s choreography – no mean feat for Juju, who, when asked if she was flexible, said: ‘Well, if you call me a 6 o’clock and you need me to be there at 7 I’ll be there at 7, but are my muscles flexible? No.’
Ru then made her decision after the queens performed a three-way lip sync battle to Janelle Monae’s banger Make Me Feel.

The episode also saw the return of the rest of All Stars 5 queens, but unlike other seasons, they weren’t there to steal another queen’s place or try to get back into the competition.
All Stars 5 also starred India, Alexis, Blair St Clair, Derrick Barry, Mayhem Miller, Ongina and Mariah Balenciaga, and introduced a lip sync for your legacy twist as main stage winners were pitted against lip sync assassins from previous seasons to collect their cash tips.
Shea joins Chad Michaels, Alaska, Trixie Mattel and season 4’s joint winners Trinity The Tuck and Monet X Change in the Hall of Fame.
Her win also means that two black queens are the current reigning Drag Race champs, after Jaida Essence Hall won season 12 of the regular show.
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars is available to stream on Netflix.
The drag queen shared a statement after the tragic news, penning: ‘I am heartbroken to learn of the passing of Chi Chi DeVayne.
‘I am so grateful that we got to experience her kind and beautiful soul. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
‘May her generous and loving spirit shine down on us all. On behalf of VH1, World of Wonder and the cast and crew of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I extend my deepest sympathy – from our family to hers.’
The star drag queen had found fame on RuPaul’s Drag Race season eight, also starring on the third season of All Stars.
Courtney Act said: ‘Vale Chi Chi!’ while Trinity The Tuck added: ‘I’m so sad! She was literally the kindest person! RIP’.
Adore Delano shared a photo of Chi Chi, writing: ‘Rest In Peace • Chi Chi DeVayne.’
Meanwhile, Farrah Moan shared a personal story about the queen, writing on Twitter: ‘Chichi was hands down one of my favorite queens to work with.
‘I first met her right after filming s9. We smoked the fattest blunt & she gave me amazing advice I’ll never forget. All my memories with her from the Xmas tours will be in my heart forever. Rest in power sweet angel.’

Chi Chi – real name Zavion Davenport – had been in and out of hospital recently following suspected kidney failure.
She underwent a biopsy and dialysis, a procedure to remove waste products and excess fluid from the blood. Days after the procedure she was discharged from hospital and posted a video on social media, telling fans she was ‘about to go home’.
However fears for her health returned when she shared an Instagram update revealing she was back in hospital. From her hospital bed Chi Chi said on her Instagram Story: ‘Hey guys, I’m back in. Keep me in your prayers, I’ll be back soon.’
In 2018, the TV star was diagnosed with scleroderma, an uncommon condition that results in hard, thickened areas of skin and sometimes problems with internal organs and blood vessels.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is sashaying and staying on our screens, as it’s been renewed by home channel VH1.
The queer reality TV behemoth will be returning for the 13th season of the main series, as well as the sixth edition of its All Stars spin-off, which reunites fan favourites from past series to fight for another shot at the crown.
According to Variety, the ground-breaking programme will not be going anywhere soon, as new season of Drag Race and All Stars will also be followed by spin-off, behind-the-scenes show Untucked.
‘Drag queens have been on the frontlines of many challenging times in our history,’ legendary host RuPaul said in a statement on the renewal.
‘RuPaul’s Drag Race 13, All Stars 6 and new seasons of Untucked will offer more opportunities for our queens to rise to the occasion and spread the love.’
This does make sense, of course, as season 12 of the show was the highest-watched in its herstory in the US, while it was added to Netflix in the UK and attracted some massive guest judges in the form of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Robyn and Normani.
The success of the original, of course, has also lead to more country-specific spin-offs, such as Drag Race UK and Canada’s Drag Race.
Jaida won the most recent series of Drag Race.
The most recent seasons of Drag Race and All Stars were won by Jaida Essence Hall and Shea Coulle, respectively.
The drag queen shared a statement after the tragic news, penning: ‘I am heartbroken to learn of the passing of Chi Chi DeVayne.’
‘I am so grateful that we got to experience her kind and beautiful soul. She will be dearly missed, but never forgotten,’ it went on.
‘May her generous and loving spirit shine down on us all. On behalf of VH1, World of Wonder and the cast and crew of RuPaul’s Drag Race, I extend my deepest sympathy – from our family to hers.’
RuPaul’s Drag Race is available to stream via Netflix.

Drag Race fans have been left saddened by the news that drag performer Chi Chi DeVayne died on Thursday, August 20.
Chi Chi, real name Zavion Davenport, stole the hearts of viewers the world over after appearing in RuPaul’s Drag Race season eight and later the third season of Drag Race All Stars.
The star’s family said in a statement: ‘It is with tremendous sorrow that my family and I announce the passing of my beloved son, Zavion Michael Davenport, the world renowned Chi Chi DeVayne…
‘His final words to his family and fans, “Never Give Up!”’
How did the star die?
Chi Chi DeVayne cause of death: how did Chi Chi die?
The talented drag star is thought to have passed away due to complications from pneumonia.
Chi Chi, who was 34, revealed to fans on Instagram earlier this month that she had contracted pneumonia after suffering from kidney failure.
Chi Chi was previously also hospitalised in July with high blood pressure and suspected kidney failure, telling fans she was to undergo dialysis treatment.
It is thought that Chi Chi’s condition was a result of a diagnosis she had received in 2018 for scleroderma.
What is scleroderma?
The NHS reports that scleroderma is ‘an uncommon condition that results in hard, thickened areas of skin and sometimes problems with internal organs and blood vessels.’
It is caused by the immune system attacking the connective tissue under the skin and around internal organs and blood vessels. This causes scarring and thickening of the tissue in these areas.
Rest In Peace now my beautiful sister #chichidevayne im heart broken.
